The Beers Juniors showcased remarkable talent at the 2025 Highlanders Winter League - Woodquarter Series indoor baseball tournament.
WEITRA. the Schremser Beers hosted the inaugural junior indoor baseball tournament in the Waldviertel region, held at the Weitra middle school sports hall. This event marked the beginning of indoor training for the Beers Juniors, the youth team of the Schremser Beers. Competing against teams from Gramastetten, Wels, Attnang, and Stockerau, the juniors demonstrated their skills and determination.
Their indoor training will continue until mid-March, culminating in another tournament scheduled for March 8th in Linz, where they aim to further hone their abilities for the upcoming outdoor season.
Highlanders Dominate, While Others Fight for Position
From the outset, the Gramastettner Highlanders, with their seasoned players, proved to be a formidable force, outclassing the other teams. Though, the competition remained fierce, with the remaining teams battling neck-and-neck for the top spots in this fast-paced, simplified indoor baseball format.
The Schremsers entered two teams: Beers 1, primarily composed of U16 players, and Beers 2, featuring U14 athletes. Beers 1 secured three victories in the preliminary rounds, advancing to the semifinals and ultimately the finals, where they once again faced the Highlanders. Despite their best efforts, they conceded to the Highlanders’ dominance. Beers 2,though showing moments of brilliance,were unable to progress beyond the preliminary stage.
