Beşiktaş Aims for squad Overhaul: four Players on the Exit List
as Beşiktaş continues its search for a new manager, the club is simultaneously gearing up for a busy transfer window. With the January transfer period now open, the Black Eagles are prioritizing outgoing transfers to reshape thier squad. Currently boasting 14 foreign players, Beşiktaş is open to selling several if the right offers arrive.
Leading the list of potential departures are Jean Onana, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Arthur Masuaku, and Al Musrati.
Onana, who has attracted interest from France and Italy, has struggled to make an impact this season, managing only 163 minutes across six appearances in all competitions without contributing a goal or assist.
Chamberlain, plagued by injuries since his arrival, is also being linked with a return to England. Despite featuring in five Süper Lig matches, totaling 113 minutes, he did score the winning goal against Fenerbahçe in a crucial 1-0 victory at Tüpraş Stadium.
Masuaku, a consistent performer for Beşiktaş, has clocked 2,610 minutes across 25 appearances, contributing one goal and five assists. Despite being one of the team’s most utilized players, the Congolese international has faced criticism from fans and is reportedly open to offers, especially from Greece.
Musrati, who holds the record for the highest transfer fee paid by Beşiktaş (€11 million), has failed to live up to expectations. The Libyan midfielder has struggled to make a notable impact in the midfield, scoring only two goals in 21 appearances totaling 1,443 minutes. A recent offer from a Saudi Arabian club fell through due to disagreements over contract terms, but Beşiktaş remains hopeful of receiving a renewed bid.
These potential departures highlight Beşiktaş’s ambition to reshape its squad and address its surplus of foreign players. The club’s transfer activity in the coming weeks will be closely watched as it seeks to build a competitive team for the remainder of the season.
Beşiktaş on the Brink of an Overhaul: An Exclusive Interview with Former black Eagles Captain, Emre Aşık
Welcome, football lovers, to another insightful edition of “Inside the Dugout”! Today, we have the privilege of hosting a true Beşiktaş legend, former captain and Turkish national team star, emre Aşık. Emre, thanks for joining us.
Emre: Thanks for having me! It’s always a pleasure to discuss Beşiktaş, a club that’s so close to my heart.
Moderator: Now, the news is buzzing with reports of a potential squad upheaval at Beşiktaş. With four prominent players – Jean Onana, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, arthur Masuaku, and Al Musrati – seemingly on their way out, what are your thoughts on this strategy?
Emre: It’s definitely a bold approach. Beşiktaş has always been known for its ambitious transfers. I understand the desire to reshape the team and address the surplus of foreign players. But, it’s crucial to ensure that replacements are of the highest caliber.
Moderator: I agree. Losing key players, especially in the middle of the season, can disrupt team chemistry. Do you think any of these departures will substantially impact Beşiktaş’s performance this season?
Emre: Onana, Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Musrati haven’t quite lived up to expectations, so their departures might not be such a blow. Masuaku, on the other hand, has been a consistent performer. His loss would be felt, but if the club secures a suitable replacement, they might be able to weather the storm.
Moderator: Let’s talk about Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. He arrived with a great deal of fanfare but has been hampered by injuries. Seeing him return to England could be a classic case of a promising talent not fully realizing its potential.
Emre: Absolutely. Oxlade-Chamberlain had the potential to become a truly great player for Beşiktaş, but injuries unluckily put a damper on his time here.
Moderator: Speaking of potential, Al Musrati holds the record for the highest transfer fee paid by Beşiktaş. His performance hasn’t quite matched the expectations that come with such a price tag. Do you feel pressure on a player when they command such a hefty fee?
emre: There’s no doubt about it. When a club invests heavily in a player, expectations soar. Unfortunately, Musrati hasn’t delivered consistently. While the Saudi offer fell through, perhaps a change of scenery might rekindle his form.
Moderator: what message would you give to the Beşiktaş faithful during this period of transition?
Emre: I would urge them to remain patient and supportive. This squad still has a lot of quality. The right reinforcements, coupled with strategic planning by the new manager, could see Beşiktaş competing for titles again soon.
Moderator: Thank you for sharing your insights, Emre. This has been fascinating. We encourage all our readers to add their thoughts and opinions on Beşiktaş’s rebuilding strategy. Leave a comment below!
This significant restructuring suggests a new chapter for Beşiktaş. It’ll be captivating to see if the Black Eagles can navigate these changes effectively and emerge stronger in the long run. Only time will tell.
