Jelínek Embraces New Challenge as Slavia B-team Head coach
Jan Jelínek, a seasoned football coach with a wealth of experience, has embarked on a new chapter in his career, joining Slavia Prague as the head coach of their B-team. This move follows a accomplished stint at Mladá Boleslav, where he served as an assistant coach under David Holoubek and Andreas Brännström.
jelínek expressed his gratitude to Mladá Boleslav for the opportunity to grow and develop as a coach. He highlighted the positive working habitat and the chance to contribute to the team’s success.
The 42-year-old coach is excited about the challenge ahead at Slavia, a club renowned for its commitment to developing young talent. Jelínek’s primary focus will be on nurturing the next generation of Slavia stars,providing them with a platform to hone their skills and progress in their careers.
“My ambition has always been to lead a team as head coach, and Slavia presents an extraordinary opportunity,” Jelínek stated. “The club boasts a wealth of talented players, and I’m eager to contribute to their development within a challenging and supportive environment.”
Jelínek’s coaching beliefs centers around player development and creating a positive learning atmosphere. He believes in fostering open communication and encouraging players to take ownership of their growth.
Joining Jelínek on the Slavia B-team coaching staff are Miroslav Podrazký and Jaroslav Borák as assistants, along with goalkeeper coach Jiří Lindr. this experienced team will work collaboratively to guide the young players towards success.
Jelínek inherits a team currently sitting in eighth place in the Chance of the National League. He aims to build upon the team’s existing foundation and guide them towards achieving their full potential.
Simultaneously occurring, Mladá Boleslav has swiftly appointed Jakub harant, formerly the head coach of Slovan Liberec’s reserves, as Jelínek’s replacement.
This transition marks a new chapter for both Jelínek and Mladá Boleslav, with both parties looking forward to continued success in the future.
From Assistant to Head Coach: An Interview with Jan Jelínek
Today I’m joined by the newly appointed head coach of Slavia Prague’s B-team, Jan Jelínek! Welcome to the show, Jan.
Jan Jelínek: It’s great to be here.
It’s been quite a journey for you, moving from assistant coach at Mladá Boleslav to leading a team of your own. What prompted this move to Slavia Prague?
Jan Jelínek: Honestly, the timing felt right. My time at Mladá Boleslav was invaluable – working alongside david Holoubek and Andreas Brännström taught me so much. But being a head coach has always been an ambition of mine, and Slavia Prague, with their focus on fostering young talent, seemed the perfect opportunity.
Interviewer: Slavia Prague is known for nurturing future stars. Do you see this role as a unique challenge, shaping the next generation of footballing greats?
Jan Jelínek: Absolutely. It’s an enormous responsibility, but also incredibly exciting. Building a positive, supportive environment where these young players can flourish is crucial. It’s about more than just tactics; it’s about player development both on and off the pitch.
Interviewer: Your coaching philosophy seems centered around player growth and open interaction. Can you elaborate on that?
Jan Jelínek: I firmly believe that players need to feel heard and trusted. Only then can they truly reach their potential. Creating an atmosphere of open dialog and encouraging players to take ownership of their development, that’s the key.
Interviewer: The Slavia B team is currently sitting in eighth place in the Chance League. Do you foresee any drastic changes to the team’s strategy or line-up moving forward?
Jan Jelínek: While I want to build upon the solid foundation that’s already in place, some adjustments are inevitable.
It’s about finding the right blend – respecting existing strengths while introducing new ideas and tactics.My ultimate aim is to help these players progress and showcase their abilities not just at the B-team level, but potentially for Slavia’s first team someday.
interviewer: Mladá Boleslav was quick to fill your vacancy with Jakub Harant. Do you think the team will continue to thrive with this new leadership?
Jan Jelínek: Jakub is a talented coach with a proven track record. I’m confident he’ll do a great job with Mladá Boleslav. they are a very strong club with aspiring goals.
Interviewer: what message do you have for Slavia B-team fans and the young players under your tutelage?
Jan Jelínek: to the fans, I promise dedication and hard work. I want to see us playing exciting, attacking football while developing these incredible young talents.
