Festive Cheer and Championship Triumphs for Local Judo Club
The holiday season brought a blend of festive spirit and sporting achievements for members of the local judo club.
youngest members enjoyed a special Christmas celebration on the tatami,receiving treats from instructors Florian and Manon. Meanwhile, older judokas shared a joyful communal class, followed by an aperitif dinner and continued taiso practice.
The club’s teenage athletes recently showcased their skills at the junior and junior departmental championships in Yssingeaux, achieving notable results.Ali de Gaitchia secured a third-place finish in the under 60 kg category, earning a spot in the interdepartmental championship.Manon Nicolas,already a top-ranked young cadet referee,claimed second place in the under 52 kg division. Lucas Pazienza and Thomas Reichmann also demonstrated their prowess, placing third and fourth respectively in the under 73 kg category.
These accomplishments propelled Lucas Pazienza and Manon Nicolas to the Loire Auvergne cadet interdepartmental championships. Manon Nicolas’s seventh-place finish secured her a place at the Aura championship in Ceyrat, Puy-de-Dôme, scheduled for february 8th.
In late November, the club celebrated grade promotions at the Maison du Judo in Lyon. Florian Tavernier earned 10 points towards his third-dan black belt, while Fabrice Duval achieved a remarkable 40 points, securing his second-dan. Young judokas preparing for their first-dan also shone brightly. Emma Mourgues earned an impressive 27 points, while Isabelle Pailhes and Manon Nicolas each achieved 10 points. The group displayed remarkable camaraderie,with Florian and Fabrice offering guidance and encouragement,embodying the club’s fighting spirit. These achievements bode well for a triumphant new year.
