This heartwarming appearance comes just weeks after Marin returned to training on December 30th, marking five months sence a serious knee injury forced her to withdraw from the Paris Olympics, where she was a strong contender for a medal.
In a video posted on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), Marin can be seen performing mobility exercises on a badminton court at the Consejo Superior de Deportes facilities. While she refrained from wielding her racket,the video showcased her determination and progress in her recovery journey.

You’ve been remarkably open about your recovery journey, sharing both triumphs and challenges on social media. Why is thattransparency important to you?
carolina: “I believe in being authentic and genuine. Sharing my ups and downs allows others to relate, to know they’re not alone in their struggles. It also helps to destigmatize the mental and physical challenges athletes face during recovery.”
Your dedication to recent training videos is certainly impressive. It’s clear you’re putting in the work. After five months away from the court, what are your biggest goals for the upcoming year?
Carolina: “My primary goal is to return to full fitness, ensuring my knee is fully recovered. From there, it’s about regaining my peak performance and returning to the competitive circuit.Of course, Paris 2024 is always in the back of my mind. it woudl be an incredible honour to compete again on that stage.”
Many athletes struggle with the emotional rollercoaster of injury. What advice would you give to those facing similar challenges?
Carolina: “Injuries are incredibly tough, both physically and mentally. It’s critically important to remember that healing takes time. Surround yourself with a strong support system – family,friends,coaches,medical professionals – and focus on small victories each day. Celebrate every milestone, no matter how small, and never lose sight of your passion.”
Carolina, your mantra, “I can as I think I can” resonates with so many people. What message does that message impart to aspiring athletes and those facing adversity in general?
Carolina: “It’s about believing in yourself, even when faced with obstacles. The mind is a powerful tool, and a positive mindset can overcome incredible challenges.If you believe in your abilities and remain persistent, anything is possible.”
