The cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly eyeing Cam Johnson as a key addition to bolster their roster for a potential 2025 NBA championship run. Sources from The Athletic suggest that Johnson could be the ideal fit alongside stars like Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley, Darius Garland, and Jarrett Allen, solidifying the team’s core.
Johnson, who previously played a pivotal role for the Phoenix Suns during their 2021 NBA Finals campaign, is now one of the most sought-after assets remaining on the market. The Brooklyn Nets, who have already parted ways with Dennis Schroeder and Dorian Finney-Smith in deals with the Warriors and Lakers, are open to offers for Johnson. This season, he has been averaging close to 20 points per game while shooting an impressive 42% from beyond the arc, making him a highly attractive target.
Johnson’s value is further amplified by his contract terms, which include $22.5 million for this season and a total of $42 million through 2027. The Cavaliers could possibly structure a deal by offering brooklyn the expiring $16 million contract of Caris levert, along with reliable role players like Dean Wade and Isaac Okoro, and possibly one or two future second-round draft picks.
