Flamengo Receives Enhanced Offer for Defender Fabrício Bruno
The Flamengo football club is poised too receive a revised proposal for defender fabrício Bruno, whose contract extends until December 2028. André Cury, Bruno’s representative, recently met with Cruzeiro officials to negotiate an improved offer from the Minas Gerais club.
Cruzeiro has agreed to increase their initial bid of €5 million (R$ 31.8 million) for 50% of Bruno’s economic rights. The new proposal now stands at €7 million (R$ 44.6 million) for 70% of the player’s rights, a significant jump reflecting Cruzeiro’s strong desire to secure the defender.
Adding to the financial incentive, Cruzeiro is also set to include approximately €1 million (R$ 6.3 million) in bonuses. This means Flamengo could potentially receive a total of R$ 50.9 million for Fabrício Bruno while retaining 30% of his economic rights. Cruzeiro plans to formally submit this enhanced offer to Flamengo in the coming hours.

Fernando Diniz, Cruzeiro’s head coach for the 2025 season, is a fervent admirer of Fabrício Bruno’s playing style. He believes the Flamengo defender would be instrumental in executing his tactical approach. Diniz’s strong endorsement has fueled Cruzeiro’s determination to acquire Bruno.
International Interest in Fabrício Bruno
Cruzeiro isn’t the only club vying for Fabrício Bruno’s signature.French side Rennes has also expressed interest, prompted by their head coach, Jorge Sampaoli. In August 2024, Rennes submitted a €4 million (R$ 84 million at the time) offer to Flamengo, which was ultimately rejected.

Should Flamengo Let Bruno Go? A Chat with Brazilian Football Legend Cafu
Welcome back, football fanatics, to another fiery edition of The Dugout. Today, we’re diving into the world of transfer rumors and tactical debates surrounding Flamengo’s star defender, Fabrício Bruno. Joining me today is none other than the legendary Cafu, World Cup winner and a man who knows a thing or two about defensive prowess.
Cafu, welcome to the show!
Cafu: Thank you for having me. Always a pleasure to chat about the gorgeous game.
Moderator: So, Cafu, the news is buzzing with talk of Cruzeiro making a strong play for Bruno. €7 million for 70% of his rights, plus bonuses – that’s a substantial offer. What are your initial thoughts?
Cafu: Its certainly a good offer, and shows Cruzeiro are serious about strengthening their backline. fabrício Bruno is a solid player, strong in the air, good positioning, and cozy with the ball at his feet. He’s definitely raised his game at Flamengo.
Moderator: We know Flamengo’s defensive options are strong with players like Léo Pereira and Léo ortiz. Do you think they could afford to let Bruno go?
Cafu: That’s the million-dollar question, isn’t it? Flamengo has a great squad but you always need depth, especially in defense. Losing Bruno would undoubtedly hurt, but bringing in some fresh faces with the money earned could be a smart tactical move.
Moderator: Cruzeiro’s Coach Fernando Diniz is a known admirer of Bruno. He seems to have a clear vision for how Bruno fits into his system.
Cafu: Diniz is a very astute coach, always looking for players who can execute his tactical vision. He likes his defenders to be comfortable on the ball, able to build attacks from the back. Bruno certainly fits that mold.
Moderator: Let’s not forget about Rennes’ interest. A French club throwing €4 million into the mix back in August shows Bruno has international appeal.
Cafu: Absolutely. That shows just how highly he’s regarded.Leaving for Europe to test himself at a different level could be tempting for any young player. But Flamengo is a giant of South American football. Staying and winning titles there is no small feat.
Moderator: so,Cafu, tough call, right? What do you think Flamengo should do?
Cafu: It’s a tough one, without a doubt. It depends on what Flamengo’s ambitions are. If they want to keep their core group strong and challenge for every title, they might be reluctant to let Bruno go. But, if they believe the money can be reinvested to bring in even stronger reinforcements, then it might be a calculated risk worth taking.
Moderator: Excellent points, Cafu.
