Argentine defender Valentín Gómez will remain with Vélez Sarsfield for the foreseeable future,as Cruzeiro has officially pulled out of negotiations for the 21-year-old talent. While the initial agreement stood at a hefty US$10 million (approximately R$61.3 million), sources close to Cruzeiro revealed that Vélez repeatedly altered the terms of the contract, ultimately frustrating the Brazilian club’s leadership. This led Cruzeiro to abandon the pursuit of the promising young defender.
