Cruzeiro Embarks on US Pre-Season Tour
The Cruzeiro squad is set to kick off thier pre-season training outside of Brazil, heading to the United States on Sunday, January 5th. This ”Five-Star Pre-Season” will see the team participate in rigorous training sessions and kind matches as part of the FC Series Inter Soccer&Co tournament.
Joining Cruzeiro in this exciting event are fellow Brazilian giants São Paulo and Atlético Mineiro, alongside Major League Soccer’s orlando City.
Florida Focus:
The team will be based in the Sunshine State, primarily in Tampa from January 6th to 14th. They will then relocate to Orlando, the host city for the tournament, from January 15th to 19th before returning to Brazil.
On-Field Preparations:
Cruzeiro’s pre-season schedule is packed with both physical conditioning and on-field drills, meticulously planned by head coach Fernando Diniz and his staff.
the frist friendly match will pit cruzeiro against São Paulo on January 15th at 9:30 PM (Brasília time) at the Inter&Co Stadium, home of Orlando City.
A highly anticipated clash awaits on January 18th at 5:00 PM (Brasília time) as Cruzeiro faces off against their fierce rivals, Atlético Mineiro, also at the Inter&Co Stadium.

Cruzeiro’s Return to US Soil:
This marks Cruzeiro’s return to the united States after an 11-year hiatus.Their last visit was in 2014 during the FIFA World Cup, where they participated in a successful five-game friendly tour.
The team, then led by Marcelo Oliveira, secured victories against Miami Dade in two encounters (5-1 and 2-1) and triumphed over three Mexican clubs: América (5-3), Tigres (2-0), and Chivas (2-0).
Previous US Excursions:
Cruzeiro has a history of successful US tours. In 2010, they defeated New England Revolution (3-0) and New York Red Bull (4-2) in June.
During the 2013 Confederations Cup, while the Brazilian national team competed, Cruzeiro added two more victories to their US record, beating Strikers (4-0) and Mexican side Morelia (2-1).
International Classic:
The upcoming clash against Atlético Mineiro will be only the second time the two Minas Gerais rivals have faced each other outside of Brazil. Their first encounter abroad took place in 2009 during the Summer Tournament in Montevideo, Uruguay, where Cruzeiro emerged victorious with a 4-2 scoreline.
