“The delimited area has unfortunately become a haven for individuals experiencing homelessness,” laments Andrés Guzmán, a concerned resident. “This creates an habitat conducive to illicit activities, and the lack of security is deeply troubling.”
Guzmán further highlights the detrimental impact on the community: “The presence of garbage and unsanitary conditions is unacceptable. This space was intended for recreation and family enjoyment, but it has become a source of anxiety and discomfort.”

They demand transparency and accountability from the local government, urging immediate action to address both the security concerns and the stalled construction.In response to the mounting pressure,the Secretary of Infrastructure,Diana Osorio Bernal,attributes the delay to the complexities of the General Royalties System,which governs the project’s funding.She assures the public that the initiation document is nearing completion and anticipates its signing within the week.
“This will pave the way for construction to commence,” Bernal states, “and we will also prioritize reinforcing security measures to mitigate the community’s concerns.”
While the Secretary emphasizes the importance of adhering to legal and administrative procedures, residents remain apprehensive. They yearn for tangible progress and a clear timeline for the Coliseum’s completion.
