One year ago,the basketball world mourned the loss of Dejan Milojević,a respected assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors. PD: Absolutely. What I admired most about Dejan was his relentless belief in young players. He saw potential where others didn’t, and he had this uncanny ability to nurture it, to shape raw talent into something truly special.

PD: It was inspiring, to say the least. dejan had this incredible knack for understanding a player’s strengths and weaknesses. He’d tailor his coaching approach to each individual,constantly challenging them,pushing them to be their best.
With Jokić, such as, he recognized that unique blend of passing skill and size.He helped Nikola refine his low-post moves, develop his court vision, and instill that confidence to dominate the game. And with Zubac, it was all about building his strength, his footwork, and honing his defensive skills.
It’s clear that Dejan’s impact extends far beyond these two superstars.The fact that twenty of his players made it to the NBA is a testament to his coaching prowess. How did he create such a powerhouse feeder system for the league?
PD: He was simply relentless in his pursuit of excellence. He built a culture of hard work and dedication at Mega and Budućnost, instilled a winning mentality. He wasn’t just coaching plays; he was teaching life lessons.
Dejan’s dedication to developing young talent is evident in his work with more than just Jokić and Zubac. Players like Vasilije Mičić, Nemanja Dangubić, and Goga bitadze – he improved their skillsets and prepared them for the NBA stage.

PD: (laughs) Fierce competitor. Dejan was a true point guard,a leader on the court. He had this incredible basketball IQ,he could see the floor like few others,and he always made his teammates better. He wasn’t afraid to take the big shot when the game was on the line, but he also knew how to facilitate the offense and make everyone around him look good.
Partizan honored Dejan’s memory by displaying his name on their jerseys during a game. The ABA League even dedicated their MVP award to him. What does that tell us about Dejan’s impact on the game, not just in Serbia but across Europe?
PD: It speaks volumes.
It signifies that Dejan’s contributions transcended borders. He was a basketball ambassador,a true legend of the game,and I beleive his legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.

PD: Never stop believing in yourself.
