Coach Schöffmann: Absolutely! The Dukes’ win against my former team, the Kapfenberg Bulls, was a real testament to their resilience.They started strong, but the Bulls fought back valiantly.It’s always a battle when these two teams meet.
Indeed,the Dukes’ initial dominance seemed to fade as the Bulls clawed their way back.What do you think contributed to that shift in momentum?
Coach Schöffmann: Well, you have to hand it to Chaney, who was simply on fire for Kapfenberg. He single-handedly kept them in the game. On the Dukes’ side, perhaps they got a little complacent after that strong opening quarter.Basketball is a game of runs, and the Bulls capitalized on that.
Speaking of runs, the Graz-St. Pölten matchup saw a dramatic third quarter for Graz.Scoring 28 while St. Pölten managed only three points – that’s a statement! What tactical adjustments do you think graz’s coach might have made at halftime to spark such a resurgence?
Coach Schöffmann: A 25-point swing is absolutely remarkable. It wouldn’t surprise me if Coach Prugger emphasized a more aggressive defensive approach, forcing turnovers and rapid transition baskets. St. Pölten’s third-quarter collapse suggests they might have panicked slightly, leading to poor shot selections and rushed decisions.
You mentioned Coach Prugger.Graz seems to be hitting their stride this season with nine wins. Are they a dark horse contender for the title?
Coach Schöffmann: they certainly are turning heads! Their resilience and ability to close out games like they did against St. Pölten are remarkable. However, the top teams like the Swans are still a step ahead.
