Dordogne Périgord judo alliance athletes showcased thier skills throughout the weekend, competing at the departmental dojo and the Saint-Pourçain tournament.
Over the weekend, the departmental dojo was the stage for the cadet and first division championships. AJDP judokas delivered outstanding performances, earning multiple medals and demonstrating extraordinary sportsmanship.
In the girls’ category,five Dordogne athletes emerged victorious: Maëlle Pinto (-44 kg) and Victoria Moulet (-52 kg) from Trélissac,Isae Hankart (-57 kg,AJDP Excideuil),Maia Villiers (-63 kg,AJDP Montpon),and Lou Pollet (+70 kg) from Lindois. On the boys’ side, four Périgourdins claimed titles: Luca Dos Santos (-50 kg) and Mathis Mizera (-90 kg) from lindois, Nathan Chastanet (-60 kg, AJDP La Roche Chalais), and Gabin Saint Sevin (-66 kg, AJDP Bergerac).
Regional and National Prospects
The top two judokas in each category have secured their spots for the regional championship, scheduled for February 8 in Bouscat. They join Emma Jaubard (AJDP La Roche Chalais), who was directly qualified. Additionally,Thalia Audebert (AJDP Périgueux) and Gabriel Labrot (AJDP Trélissac) will compete in the french 1st division championship,thanks to their top-ten national rankings. For those who didn’t qualify, another chance awaits at the interdepartmental championships for zone B 2nd division and hopefuls, set for April 5 at the departmental dojo.
Meanwhile, juniors and seniors participated in the Cluzel-Dumont challenge in Saint-Pourçain-sur-Sioule. Andrani Roger (-81 kg, AJDP Ribérac) and Abella Delmas-Pons (-57 kg, AJDP Lalinde) secured third place in their respective categories, while Sarah Bonnet (-70 kg, AJDP terrasson) claimed second place. Christian M’Bani (-73 kg) and Dimitri Picard (-66 kg, AJDP Terrasson) did not place in the competition.
