## Can Verstappen Dominate F1 Again in 2025?
Max Verstappen’s 2024 Formula 1 season was a rollercoaster ride. While he ultimately secured his fourth consecutive championship title, the path was far from smooth. Former IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe believes Verstappen possesses the talent and determination to repeat his success in 2025, despite the challenges that lie ahead.
Verstappen’s early dominance in 2024 was undeniable. However, Red Bull Racing’s performance waned as the season progressed, with rivals McLaren and Ferrari frequently outpacing the Austrian team. This forced Verstappen to push his limits, extracting every ounce of performance from his car to stay in contention. His remarkable victory in Brazil, a race many consider one of the greatest rain races in F1 history, exemplified his extraordinary skill and resilience.[[2]Hinchcliffe, speaking on *The Red Flags Podcast*, highlighted Verstappen’s exceptional consistency and ability to deliver even when the car isn’t performing at its peak. He contrasted Verstappen’s performance with that of Lando Norris, acknowledging Norris’s potential but emphasizing Verstappen’s ability to secure podium finishes even in less competitive machinery.
“I wouldn’t no how you could bet against Verstappen,” Hinchcliffe stated. “He operates at a level so much higher than everyone else.Look, Lando Norris is ready as long as the car is good enough every weekend, but what is exceptional about Max is that he can also get third place if the car is not so good.”
However,Red Bull Racing faces a crucial off-season. The departure of chief designer Adrian newey, a key figure in Verstappen’s success, leaves a significant void. Newey’s move to Aston Martin adds another layer of intrigue to the 2025 season.
While Verstappen’s talent is undeniable, red Bull’s ability to adapt and maintain their competitive edge will be crucial in determining whether the Dutchman can continue his reign at the top of Formula 1.

Welcome back, F1 fans! Today we have a very special guest joining us, the legendary Colombian driver, Juan Pablo Montoya. Juan Pablo, thanks for being here.
Juan Pablo Montoya: My pleasure! Always great to talk about F1, especially when it involves a talent like verstappen.
The 2024 season was a nail-biter.Verstappen clinched his fourth consecutive title, but it wasn’t a walk in the park. Red Bull seemed to lose their edge as the season progressed, with McLaren and Ferrari breathing down their necks. What are your thoughts on Verstappen’s performance this year?
Juan Pablo: look, Max is phenomenal. He doesn’t just rely on having the fastest car. He extracts every bit of performance from it, and when it’s not quite there, he still manages to get competitive results. That Brazil win in the rain? That was vintage Verstappen – pure skill on full display.
James Hinchcliffe made an engaging point on The Red Flags Podcast about Verstappen’s ability to consistently secure podiums even when the car isn’t the fastest. Do you agree with that assessment?
Juan Pablo: Absolutely. You see guys like Lando Norris who are incredibly talented, but they need everything to be perfect to be on the podium. Max, he elevates his game even when the car isn’t ideal. It’s a remarkable trait.
Hinchcliffe believes Verstappen could dominate again in 2025. Realistically, do you see Red Bull maintaining their competitiveness, especially with Adrian Newey’s departure?
Juan Pablo: Newey’s departure is a big deal. He’s a genius, there’s no question. But Red Bull has a strong team, and they’ve shown they can adapt. They’ll need to find a way to fill that void, though; it won’t be easy.
A lot of people are excited to see how Aston Martin will perform next season with Newey at the helm. Do you think they could become genuine title contenders?
Juan Pablo: They definitely have the potential. They made great strides in 2024, and having Newey in their corner gives them a huge advantage in terms of technical expertise. they’ll need to maintain that momentum and ensure they have the resources to keep up with the development race.
The 2025 season is shaping up to be a thrilling one. Verstappen, Red Bull, Newey at Aston martin – all these factors will play a crucial role. What’s your prediction, Juan Pablo?
Juan Pablo: It’s going to be incredibly close. You can never count out Verstappen and Red Bull, but aston Martin could be a real threat if Newey can work his magic. My gut feeling is that we’ll have a proper title fight on our hands!
