The 2025 Regional Indoor Archery Championship for the Barebow and Olympic Recurve divisions concluded at the “Palacoscioni” sports Hall in Nocera Superiore.Over the two-day event, the Arcieri Don Bosco from Cava de’ tirreni (SA) showcased their prowess, securing podium finishes in five class-title competitions. The Barebow category kicked off on Saturday, with Christian Ostoni of the Junior class triumphing over Antonio Mottola from Arcieri della Stella and Antonio Jack Corona from Arcieri del Sannio. In the Allievi class, Marco Allocca outshone Valerio Silvestri of Arco Puteoli, while Antonio Pio De Matteo from metellia claimed victory in the Ragazzi class against Antonio Maria Mercaldo of Arco Puteoli.
Sunday’s events were exclusively dedicated to the Olympic Recurve division. Giovanni Falciani, competing in the Senior class, secured second place behind Marcello Foria of The Sniper Archery and Alessandro Manzo of Arcieria Partenopea. Rocco Rosolia from Arcieri Arechi Salerno emerged victorious in the Allievi class, while Francesco Benevento of Arcieri Don Bosco clinched second place, edging out Jacopo Riitano of Arcieria partenopea. A notable debut was made by Giulia Lodato in the Allieve class, marking her first points in the regional championship and hinting at a promising future in the sport.
Despite a strong start in the Absolute category, Giovanni Falciani faced a tough challenge. After defeating Alessandro Manzo in a thrilling 6-2 quarterfinal, he fell short in the subsequent matches, ending in fourth place. The Arcieri Don Bosco team now awaits the results of the upcoming Compound Bow regional championships, set to take place in two weeks, to assess their indoor season’s progress. Their focus will then shift to the Italian Indoor Championships in Pordenone, scheduled for early February.

Marco Ferrara: Arcieri Don Bosco is a powerhouse in regional archery, and their results reflect their consistent training and dedication. Winning multiple podiums across different classes, from Barebow to Olympic Recurve, is no small feat. It’s clear they’ve built a strong foundation, notably in nurturing young talent.
Moderator: Speaking of young talent, let’s talk about the standout performances. Christian Ostoni won the Junior Barebow category, and Giulia Lodato made her debut in the Allieve class. What’s your take on these rising stars?
Marco Ferrara: Christian Ostoni’s victory was impressive. At his age,maintaining focus and precision in Barebow,which requires immense control and consistency,is remarkable. as for Giulia Lodato, debuting at this level and scoring points is a promising sign. She’s one to watch in the coming years.
Moderator: Shifting to the Olympic Recurve division, giovanni Falciani had a mixed performance. He secured second place in the Senior class but fell short in the Absolute category.What do you think went wrong for him?
Marco Ferrara: Giovanni is a skilled archer, but the Absolute category is particularly grueling. It tests both endurance and mental resilience. After a strong start, it’s possible fatigue or tactical errors came into play. That saeid, finishing fourth in such a competitive field is still commendable.
Moderator: The Arcieri Don Bosco team is now preparing for the Compound bow regional championships and the Italian indoor Championships. How do you see their chances in these upcoming events?
Marco Ferrara: Compound Bow is a different beast, requiring a unique skill set. If they’ve been training diligently,they could make an impact. As for the Italian Indoor Championships, it’s crucial for them to maintain their momentum. Competing at the national level is a meaningful step up, but they’ve proven they can handle the pressure.
