Heemstede is making it easier than ever for residents too explore new sports and stay active. The “Sport on Tour” program offers monthly open mornings hosted by different local sports clubs, providing a welcoming surroundings for individuals of all ages and abilities to try out various activities.
The initiative kicks off on January 15th at omnisportvereniging GSV Heemstede, where participants can sample a diverse range of sports, including gymnastics, card games like bridge and klaverjassen, badminton, volleyball, and nordic walking.
These engaging sessions run from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and require no prior experience or registration.Simply show up and discover the joy of movement!
“Sport on Tour” is a collaborative effort between the municipality and local sports clubs, aiming to encourage older adults to embrace an active lifestyle. The benefits of regular physical activity extend beyond physical health, fostering social connections and a sense of community.The program continues throughout the year, with upcoming events scheduled at HBC Tafeltennis (February 10th), MHC Alliance (March 12th), HBC Tennis (April 16th), HBC Badminton (May 14th), and the Koninklijke Roei- en Zeilvereniging Het Spaarne (June 18th).
