To kick things off, let’s talk about your decision to step away from SV Spakenburg at the end of this season. It must have been a difficult choice, especially coming off such a successful season.

Tom Noordhoff: It’s been a whirlwind. Winning the championship was an amazing experience, but it definitely came with sacrifices. There were days when I was weary from training and then had to dive straight into academy work or miss family events. It’s taken its toll, and I realized something had to give.

What advice would you give to young footballers, particularly those balancing their passion for the sport with other commitments?
Tom Noordhoff: Honesty is key.Be realistic about your limits. You can’t do it all. Prioritize your goals and be flexible. There might be compromises along the way, but as long as you’re pursuing your passions with dedication and a strong support system, you’ll find a way to make it work.
Wise words, Tom.
looking back on your time with SV Spakenburg, what will you miss the most?
Tom Noordhoff: The camaraderie. Those guys became more than teammates; they’re lifelong friends. From the highs of winning the championship to the everyday grind on the training pitch, those experiences forged a bond I’ll always cherish.
