This photograph, sourced from the archives of Heemkundekring De Lange Vonder in Beek en Donk, captures the Leonardusparochie ladies’ choir on De Donk. Taken in May 1986 to commemorate the 25th wedding anniversary of Frits and Martina van Rixtel, the choir was led by pater Theo Rooijakkers, who is pictured standing on the left. Last week, we featured a photograph of the ASV’33 ladies’ football team from 1973.Christine Nooijen-Aarts provided the names of those pictured in the top row, from left to right: Toon van Roy, followed by several unidentified individuals, Annie Aarts, annie Heesakkers, and henk Nooijen. The bottom row, also from left to right, includes Petra Manders, Jose Martens, Driesen, Petra v.d. Velden, Christine Aarts, and Anja Verbakel.Anne Wittebol-aarts contested the identification, stating that her sister, who is in the photo, was never a member of ASV. She believes the image depicts the KPJ Aarle-rixtel team, from which the ASV ladies’ team later emerged.Wittebol-Aarts was a member of the KPJ until November 1973,when she sustained a broken ankle during an away game,prompting her mother to withdraw her from the team.
