Hidalgo is gearing up for a thrilling start to 2025 in the world of sports. The state will be hosting three major national sporting events in the first quarter alone, attracting athletes from across the country and showcasing Hidalgo’s commitment to athletic excellence.
This surge in national competitions solidifies Hidalgo’s position as a premier destination for sporting events. Óscar Pérez Rojas, director of the Hidalgo Sports Institute (Inhide), expressed his excitement, noting that the federations’ repeated choice of Hidalgo as a host venue speaks volumes about the state’s capabilities.
“We’re aiming for a dynamic start to the year, packed with exciting events,” Pérez Rojas stated, emphasizing the positive impact these competitions will have on local sports progress.
Among the highly anticipated events are the National MTB Cup, the National Veterans Judo Tournament, and the National Cadet Taekwondo Championship. These tournaments will draw competitors of all ages and skill levels, promising a vibrant display of athleticism and sportsmanship.
While hidalgo is eager to host even more national events, ongoing renovations at the Centro Deportivo Hidalguense y de Alto Rendimiento (CDHAR) have necessitated some rescheduling and relocation of competitions. Pérez Rojas, affectionately known as “El Rabbit,” explained that certain events, such as those requiring weightlifting facilities, will need to be accommodated once the renovations are complete.
Despite these minor adjustments, Hidalgo’s commitment to hosting high-caliber sporting events remains unwavering. This dedication not onyl elevates the state’s profile in the national sporting landscape but also contributes considerably to the growth and development of sports at both the state and national levels.
