It’s fantastic to see Nina and Tanja receive this recognition. Their journey together has been truly inspiring. They’ve faced challenges, battled through adversity, and ultimately stood on the Olympic podium.Their dedication to the sport and each other is something we can all learn from.

Indeed! They only dropped a single set throughout the entire Olympic tournament, showcasing remarkable consistency. Do you think their dominance speaks to their extraordinary talent or years of dedicated practice, or perhaps a perfect blend of both?
Sandra:
I believe it’s a combination of both. Natural talent can get you so far, but without relentless hard work and dedication, it’s unlikely to reach the pinnacle of the sport. Nina and Tanja’s partnership is built on mutual respect, understanding, and a shared passion for the game. This,coupled with their undeniable talent,has allowed them to consistently perform at the highest level.

They’ve certainly set the bar high for future generations of Swiss beach volleyball players. Speaking of which, their nine-year partnership has come to an end, with Tanja Huberli teaming up with Leona Kernen and Nina Brunner taking a well-deserved break to welcome her first child.What are your thoughts on these new chapters for both athletes?
Sandra:
Change is certain in any sport, and I believe both nina and Tanja are making decisions that are best for them at this stage in their lives. Starting a family is a huge life commitment, and I applaud Nina’s decision to prioritize motherhood. As for Tanja, pairing up with Leona opens new possibilities and a chance to build another successful partnership.

Can we expect to see Nina back on the sand someday?
Sandra:
Only time will tell. Nina is incredibly competitive and determined, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we see her return to professional volleyball in the future. However, right now, her focus is understandably on her family.
Moderator:
That’s understandable. Looking back, their legacy extends beyond medals. They’ve inspired a generation of Swiss athletes. What would you say makes their impact so profound?
Sandra:

It’s becoming increasingly accessible, with tournaments popping up all over the world. While I don’t know if it will surpass indoor volleyball in popularity, it’s certainly gaining ground and attracting a new generation of fans.
