The idea of working with a national team and contributing to the growth of women’s football was incredibly exciting. It’s a fresh perspective, and I’m learning as much from the players as they are from me.
Moderator: Speaking of learning, you’ve highlighted the impressive communication and teamwork among the goalkeepers. How do you see your role in further developing these qualities?
Lionel Letizi: My role is to provide guidance and create an habitat where the goalkeepers feel confident to express themselves. Their technical skills are already top-notch, but football is as much about mental strength as it is indeed about physical ability. I focus on building trust and fostering a sense of unity within the group. It’s a collaborative effort, and I’m enjoying every moment of it.
