Welcome back sports fans! Today,we’re thrilled to have Johan Péricard, the newly appointed assistant coach for saint-Vallier ,join us. Johan, thanks for taking the time to chat with us.
Johan: It’s my pleasure. Always happy to talk about the sport I love.
Moderator: So, johan, your transition to the senior team has been quite unexpected.Stepping in for Jérôme grecksch mid-season after the Metz match is a big obligation. How has this unexpected elevation to the assistant coaching role been for you?
Johan: It certainly hasn’t been without its challenges. The timing was abrupt, but Saint-Vallier is a club close to my heart.I played here, and I’m familiar with the players and the team dynamics. When I was asked to step in, there was no hesitation. It was critically important to ensure the team had the necessary support, especially with the season in full swing.
Moderator: I understand needing to step up, but you mentioned avoiding penalties. Let’s unpack that a bit. What were the implications if the coaching position remained vacant for an extended period?
Johan: Well, recent regulations require teams to have qualified coaching staff present during match days. Without Jérôme, we would have faced potential fines or even match forfeitures. It’s not just about fulfilling regulations; it’s about ensuring the players have the guidance and support they need to perform at their best.
Moderator: The importance of coaching support is undeniable. Alexandre Casimiri, your head coach, has publicly acknowledged your contributions. How has your experience coaching the U18 French national team benefited your transition to this role?
johan: My experience with the national team has been invaluable. It instilled in me a strong understanding of game strategy, player development, and high-pressure situations.Applying those learnings to the senior team has been a natural transition, and I believe my experience complements Alexandre’s coaching style effectively.
Moderator: It sounds like a powerful duo. Now, let’s open this up to our audience. Have you faced any particular challenges in adapting from coaching youth to senior players? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
