She can handle the ball, shoot, pass, rebound, and defend at a level rarely seen at her age. That versatility is invaluable in today’s game.
Moderator: she’s drawn comparisons to caitlin Clark, who’s been taking the college game by storm. Do you see similarities between the two?
Swoopes: There are definitely some parallels. Both are incredibly skilled, have a knack for making highlight-reel plays, and elevate their teammates’ performance. While Caitlin is more of a scoring machine, Kira’s all-around game is reminiscent of what we saw from players like myself and Lisa Leslie.
Moderator: Kira’s committed to Purdue, a program with a strong tradition of success. Do you think it’s the right fit for her?
Swoopes: I believe so. Purdue has a great coaching staff that knows how to develop talent. They’ll give Kira the tools and support she needs to reach her full potential. Plus, playing in the Big Ten will challenge her against some of the best college players in the country.
Moderator: Looking ahead, do you see Kira making the jump to the WNBA?
Swoopes: Absolutely. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, I think she has all the tools to become a star in the WNBA. She has the physical gifts,the skillset,and the work ethic. If she continues to develop and stays hungry, the sky’s the limit for Kira Reynolds.
