Airone dei Venti Takes Flight in Sicilian badminton
The year 2025 is off to a soaring start for the airone dei Venti sports association! At the Sicilian Badminton Regional Elective Assembly held in Palermo on December 28, 2024, the association proudly presented Daniela Esposito as a candidate for the Regional Council. Out of eight candidates, Daniela secured the position of Second Regional Councilor, marking a historic moment as the first Pantellerian to join the Sicilian Badminton Regional Council.
“We are incredibly proud of this achievement,” stated Felice Pantano, President of the ASD. “ItS an honor for our island, and a significant step forward in promoting sportsmanship in Pantelleria, building on the successes already achieved by Airone dei Venti.”
Unluckily, Daniela was unable to attend the assembly in person due to a flight cancellation the day before.
Newly elected President Salvo Plaia, while introducing Daniela, described her as a vibrant, dynamic individual with a strong drive.”Daniela represents the youthful and creative spirit of the Council,” he said. ”Her ability to bring fresh ideas and implement them with enthusiasm is unparalleled. always willing to give her all, she motivates those around her, spreading contagious optimism.”
Felice Pantano, President of the ASD, also addressed the assembly, praising both Pantelleria and the work being done on the island.”we hope this election will be a good omen for transmitting the values of sportsmanship that are always alive, thanks also to another talented athlete, Claudia Reale,” he said. “Together with Daniela, they represent our shared passion for both badminton and tambourine, embodying the unity of our community.”
