Rising Rugby Stars: A Quest for Excellence On and Off the Field
The ”RR Fund” foundation, in collaboration with “Go3″ and ”Sportland Latvija”, is on a mission to discover and support Latvia’s most promising young rugby talent. This exciting initiative, launching in 2025, goes beyond athletic prowess, seeking individuals who demonstrate extraordinary dedication, leadership qualities, and a well-rounded approach to life.
A distinguished jury, comprised of Raimonds Zeps (Head of Sports and Partnerships at ”Go3″ Baltics), Marita Vilciņa (Senior Expert of the Latvian Olympic Team), and Kārlis Sarkans (rugby referee and IT professional), will meticulously evaluate applicants.
“Rugby is a demanding sport that truly tests an individual’s strength and resilience,” explains Raimonds Rudzats, Chairman of the “RR Fund” foundation. “This campaign aims to identify not just skilled athletes,but also those who possess the drive,intelligence,and dialog skills to become future leaders. We are thrilled to partner with “Go3” and “Sportland Latvija”, two prominent brands that share our vision for nurturing young talent.”
Every quarter, two exceptional individuals – one male and one female – will be crowned as “rising Rugby Stars”. These winners will receive a coveted “Sportland” gift card worth €150, a three-month “Go3” subscription, and a professionally produced publicity video by the “RR Fund” foundation.
Sandy Pinkulis, a member of the board at “Sportland Latvija”, emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach to progress: “Combining sports with quality education is crucial for young people’s growth. It fosters physical well-being, mental acuity, discipline, and social skills. Regular physical activity promotes emotional balance and self-confidence, while education equips them with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the future. This initiative champions a balanced environment that nurtures well-rounded individuals ready to make a positive impact on society.”
Aspiring rugby stars have until March 21st,2025,to submit their applications.
Request Requirements:
Academic Transcript: Submit your transcript for the period from January 6th to March 21st, 2025.
Coach Recommendation: Obtain a letter of recommendation from your rugby coach.
Player Profile Video: create a compelling video introducing yourself,explaining your passion for rugby,and detailing your individual training regimen outside of team practices. Highlight any additional commitments, such as clubs, volunteer work, or part-time jobs.
Multimedia Portfolio: Upload photos and videos showcasing your individual training and extracurricular activities to a Failiem.lv link.
The first quarter winners will be announced in early April. This is an unbelievable prospect for young rugby players to shine, gain recognition, and receive valuable support in their journey towards success.
