These terms and conditions (hereinafter referred too as the “Terms”) govern the use of LINE Manga (hereinafter referred to as the “Service”), provided by LINE Digital Frontier Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the ”Company”). The terms outlined herein apply to the incentive payment program beta test (hereinafter referred to as “the Project”) organized by the Company. By participating in the Project, customers (hereinafter referred to as “Applicants”) agree to abide by these Terms, which establish the legal relationship between the Applicants and the Company.
1. Acceptance of Terms
1.1. Applicants must adhere to these Terms when applying for the Project. Participation in the Project is contingent upon full acceptance of these Terms.
1.2. If an Applicant is under the age of majority, they must obtain consent from a legal guardian or parent before applying. Similarly, if an Applicant represents a business entity, the business must also agree to these Terms prior to using the Service.
2. Applicable Scope
In addition to these Terms,Applicants must review the “LINE Manga Indies Guidelines” (hereinafter referred to as “guidelines”) and the ”
LINE Manga Terms of Use
” (hereinafter referred to as the “Terms of Service”). Collectively, these documents are referred to as the “Terms of Service, etc.” In the event of any inconsistency between the Terms of Service,etc. and these Terms, the provisions of these Terms shall take precedence.
3. Modifications to Terms
3.1. The Company reserves the right to amend these Terms as necessary, provided such changes align with the Terms’ intended purpose. Any revisions will be communicated to Applicants through the Service, the Company’s website, or other designated methods. The updated Terms will become effective on the specified date.
3.2. The Company is not obligated to notify Applicants individually of changes to these Terms or the Terms of Service, etc. Applicants are responsible for regularly reviewing the latest version of the Terms.
4. Eligibility and Request Requirements
4.1. Applicants may submit their original manga works (completed manuscripts only, excluding names) through LINE Manga Indies to participate in the Project.
4.2. Once applicants agree to these Terms, they cannot withdraw their application for the Project.
4.3. Applications must be submitted during the Project’s designated period and in accordance with the Company’s specified procedures.
4.4. Works that have been monetized or have previously won awards or recognition in other campaigns are ineligible for submission.
4.5. Applicants may submit works that have not been monetized or recognized in other campaigns. Though, if a submitted work is monetized or wins an external award during the Project, it will be disqualified from the Project starting from the month such an event is announced.
4.6. Applicants must retain their submitted works as non-refundable data from 23:59:59 on the final day of the application month untill the aggregation period concludes (hereinafter referred to as the “Aggregation Period”). publishing or deleting the work during this time will render it ineligible. Applicants acknowledge that the metrics outlined in Section 6.5 may fluctuate before the actual aggregation period and agree to this condition. Note that the Company cannot provide precise details on the aggregation timing in advance.
4.7.All submitted works must be in Japanese, and Applicants must be residents of Japan.

8. Additional Project Application Requirements
The Company reserves the right to establish specific conditions that applicants must meet to participate in the Project.
5. Submission Guidelines
5.1. Original Work Requirement
All works submitted to the Project must be original manga created solely by the applicant. Plagiarized or co-authored works are not eligible.
5.2. Prohibited Content
submissions must not include any material that violates laws, public order, or ethical standards. This includes content that defames individuals, infringes on third-party intellectual property rights (such as copyrights, trademarks, patents, design rights, utility model rights, trade secrets, or rights related to honour, privacy, or publicity), or is deemed inappropriate by the Company. Any such submissions will be disqualified.
5.3. Intellectual Property Assurance
By submitting a work, the applicant confirms that the content does not infringe on any third-party intellectual property rights and that they possess the legal authority to grant the Company usage rights. If a third party raises a complaint, claim, or legal action (referred to as a “Claim”) due to a violation of this clause, the applicant is solely responsible for resolving the issue and covering all associated costs, including legal fees. Should the Company resolve the Claim, the applicant must reimburse all expenses incurred.
5.4. Submission Content Specifications
The company may define additional criteria for the type of works eligible for submission.
6. Bonus Award Criteria
6.1. Performance-Based Rewards
Applicants may receive monetary rewards based on the performance of their submitted works over a one-month evaluation period (referred to as the “Application Month”). The evaluation period runs from the first day to the last day of the month.
6.2. Multiple Submissions, Single Reward
While applicants may submit multiple works, only the highest-performing work (based on reward calculations) will be eligible for payment during the Application Month.
6.3. Application Process
To participate, applicants must select “Participate” in the “Incentive Payment Program (Beta Testing)” section on the work submission screen and publish a story within their work. By clicking the consent button on the application guidelines screen, applicants agree to all terms outlined in these guidelines.
6.4.Monthly Story Posting Requirement
To qualify for rewards, applicants must publish at least two new stories within the application Month. This requirement must be met consistently each month to continue receiving rewards.
6.5. Reward Calculation Metrics
If the above conditions are met,rewards will be calculated based on the following three performance indicators:
Indicator 1: Monthly Readership
– Monthly readership refers to the unique number of viewers for all stories within the submitted work during the Application Month.
– The count is finalized at the aggregation timing on the last day of the month.
– Applicants can monitor their monthly readership through the access analysis feature on the work management screen, available from late November 2022.
– Reward amounts include applicable consumption and withholding taxes.
Indicator 2: Favorite registrations
- The number of favorite registrations is calculated up to the aggregation timing on the last day of the Application Month.
– Applicants can track favorite registrations via the access analysis feature on the work management screen, available from late November 2022.

Indicator 3: Webtoon Works
– If the submitted work is classified as a ”webtoon work”—designed for vertical reading on smartphones with specific layouts and framing—the reward amount (sum of Indicator 1 and Indicator 2) will be doubled.
– Simply converting a customary horizontal panel layout to a vertical format does not qualify a work as a webtoon.
– Webtoon works must adhere to the Company’s design standards to be eligible for the enhanced reward.
6. Submission Review and Eligibility
6.6.If a submitted work is flagged by management for violating these Terms, or if the content is inaccessible due to issues on the applicant’s end, or if the Company deems the work inconsistent with the project’s objectives, the submission will no longer qualify for this initiative.
6.7. Should a submission become ineligible, the Company will not provide individual notifications or explanations. Please note that inquiries regarding disqualification will not be addressed.
6.8. The Company reserves the right to modify the evaluation criteria outlined in section 6.5 without prior notice.
7. Reward Distribution Process
7.1. Rewards will be disbursed exclusively through LINE Pay. To receive payments, applicants must first
register for LINE Pay.
7.2. Eligible applicants will receive an email between the 15th and 20th of the month following their application. This email, sent to the address provided during artist registration, will include instructions on how to claim the reward.
7.3. To receive the reward, applicants must submit required details such as their LINE Pay ID, full name, and address via the form linked in the notification email. This must be completed by the last day of the month following the application.
7.4. Failure to provide the necessary data within the specified timeframe will result in forfeiture of the reward. No exceptions will be made, even in cases of LINE Pay issues, incorrect email addresses, or undelivered notifications.
7.5. The Company will not notify individuals who are ineligible for rewards. Applicants are encouraged to monitor their work management screen to track progress against the evaluation metrics.
7.6. Provided the information submitted in section 7.3 is accurate, rewards will be transferred between the 20th and 30th of the month following the application.
7.7. The Company may attach conditions to reward eligibility. If these conditions are unmet, the Company reserves the right to cancel or reclaim the reward, even after payment has been initiated.
8. Intellectual Property and Usage Rights
8.1. Applicants retain full intellectual property rights to their submitted works. The Company does not claim ownership of these rights.
8.2. By participating in this project, applicants grant the Company and its designated third parties a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use the submitted work for promotional and advertising purposes. This includes, but is not limited to, copying, translating, adapting, modifying, and publicly transmitting the work across any media, region, or distribution method. Applicants waive their moral rights under the Copyright Act.
9. Privacy and Data Handling
9.1. The Company is committed to respecting the privacy of all applicants.
9.2. Stringent measures are in place to ensure the secure management of applicant information.
9.3. To facilitate reward payments via LINE Pay, the Company will share the applicant’s LINE Pay ID and the last four digits of their registered phone number with LINE yahoo! Corporation.
9.4. Personal information provided by applicants will be used solely for reward communication,recipient verification,and payment processing. For further details on data handling, refer to the
LINE Digital Frontier Privacy Policy.
10. Project Cancellation or Modifications
10.1. Project Suspension or Termination
The Company reserves the right to cancel or temporarily halt this project without prior notice to applicants in cases of system maintenance, communication disruptions, technical failures, or other unforeseen circumstances. Such decisions are made at the Company’s discretion to ensure operational efficiency and service quality.
10.2. Revisions to Project Terms
The Company may update, modify, or add to the project’s terms, conditions, or content at any time. These changes will be implemented without prior notification to applicants,ensuring adaptability and adaptability to evolving requirements.
11. Termination of Project Applications
the company may cease accepting applications for this project at any time, without providing advance notice to applicants. This decision might potentially be influenced by factors such as project capacity, operational constraints, or strategic adjustments.
12. Prohibited Activities
To maintain the integrity of this service, the Company strictly prohibits the following actions by users:
12.1. Legal Violations: Any actions that breach laws, court rulings, administrative orders, or legally binding agreements.
12.2. Public Order and Morality: Conduct that disrupts public order or violates societal norms and ethics.
12.3. Intellectual Property Infringement: Unauthorized use of copyrights, trademarks, patents, or other proprietary rights belonging to the Company or third parties.
12.4.Offensive Content: posting or sharing content that includes violence, explicit material, child exploitation, discriminatory remarks, or any material promoting self-harm, drug abuse, or anti-social behaviour.
12.5. Misrepresentation: Impersonating others or spreading false information.
12.6. Spamming: Repeatedly posting identical or similar comments across multiple sections without Company approval.
12.7. Unauthorized Transactions: Exchanging project-related rights for cash, goods, or other benefits outside the Company’s approved methods.
12.8. Commercial Exploitation: Using the service for profit-driven activities, advertising, or solicitation without prior consent.
12.9. Anti-Social Collaboration: Associating with or supporting groups or individuals engaged in unlawful or harmful activities.
12.10. Religious Solicitation: Promoting religious activities or organizations through the service.
12.11. Privacy Violations: Illegally collecting, sharing, or misusing personal or usage data of others.
12.12. Service Disruption: Interfering with the service’s servers, networks, or functionality through technical means, such as bots, cheat tools, or unauthorized modifications.
12.13. Reverse Engineering: Decompiling, decoding, or reverse-engineering the service’s source code for improper purposes.
12.14. Encouraging prohibited Acts: Assisting or promoting any of the aforementioned prohibited activities.
12.15. General Misconduct: Any other behavior deemed inappropriate by the Company, even if not explicitly listed above.
13. Applicant Responsibilities
13.1. Personal Accountability: Applicants participate in this project at their own risk and are solely responsible for their actions and the outcomes resulting from their application.
13.2. Application Compliance: If an applicant violates the project’s terms, provides false or incomplete information, or is deemed unsuitable by the Company, their application may be invalidated without notice. The Company may also revoke any associated benefits or rewards.
13.3. Limitation of Liability: The Company is not obligated to prevent or address issues arising from applicant misconduct, nor is it liable for any consequences affecting other users or third parties.
13. Liability and Compensation
13.4.The Applicant shall not be held accountable for any issues arising from their use of the Service to apply for the Project, including third-party complaints related to such use. If our company incurs direct or indirect damages (such as legal fees), the Applicant is required to provide immediate compensation as requested.
14. Limitation of Liability
14.1. The Company is not liable for any direct or indirect damages incurred by applicants consequently of applying or being unable to apply for this project, except in cases of intentional misconduct or gross negligence on the Company’s part.However, if the agreement between the Company and the customer qualifies as a consumer contract under the Consumer Contract Act, the Company will only be responsible for damages that are typically foreseeable and not for lost profits or other exceptional losses.
14.2. Should a customer experience damages due to the Company’s gross negligence, the Company will not be liable for lost profits or other exceptional damages. Liability will be limited to damages that are ordinarily expected. This exclusion does not apply if the agreement between the customer and the Company is classified as a consumer contract.
15. Compliance with Applicable Laws
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions conflicts with the Consumer Contract Act or other relevant laws governing the agreement between the customer and the Company, that provision will not apply to the extent of the conflict. However,the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain valid and enforceable.
16. Communication with Applicants
the Company will contact applicants regarding their application for this project through methods deemed appropriate, such as email or notifications within the Company’s service platform. Applicants are responsible for regularly checking for communications from the Company.
17. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms and Conditions are governed by Japanese law, and the official text is in Japanese. Any disputes arising from or related to the application process or this service will be exclusively resolved by the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance.

13.3. Accuracy of Facts: Applicants must provide accurate and truthful information during the request process. Any false or misleading information may lead to disqualification or revocation of rewards.
13.4. Monitoring of Progress: Applicants are encouraged to regularly check their work management screen to track their progress and ensure they meet the evaluation criteria. The Company will not provide individual notifications regarding eligibility or disqualification.
13.5. Compliance with Legal and Ethical Standards: Applicants must ensure that their submissions and actions do not violate any laws, regulations, or ethical standards.This includes, but is not limited to, respecting intellectual property rights and avoiding offensive or harmful content.
13.6. Acceptance of Terms: By participating in this project, applicants agree to abide by all the terms and conditions set forth by the Company. Any violation of these terms may result in immediate disqualification and forfeiture of any rewards.
13.7. Indemnification: applicants agree to indemnify and hold the Company harmless from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from their participation in the project, including but not limited to any violations of third-party rights or breaches of these terms and conditions.
14.limitation of Liability
14.1.Service Availability: The Company does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the service. Applicants acknowledge that the service may be subject to downtime, technical issues, or other disruptions beyond the Company’s control.
14.2. content Responsibility: The Company is not responsible for the content submitted by applicants. Applicants are solely responsible for ensuring that their submissions comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
14.3. Reward Disbursement: The Company is not liable for any delays, errors, or issues related to the disbursement of rewards, including but not limited to issues arising from LINE Pay, incorrect email addresses, or undelivered notifications.
14.4. Third-Party Actions: The Company is not responsible for the actions of third parties, including but not limited to LINE yahoo! Corporation, in relation to the handling of personal information or the disbursement of rewards.
14.5. Limitation of Damages: In no event shall the Company be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to the applicant’s participation in the project, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or use.
15.Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
15.1.Governing Law: These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan.
15.2. Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising out of or related to these terms and conditions or the applicant’s participation in the project shall be resolved through arbitration in Tokyo, Japan, in accordance with the rules of the Japan Commercial Arbitration Association. The arbitration award shall be final and binding on both parties.
16. Miscellaneous
16.1. Entire Agreement: These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between the applicant and the Company regarding the project and supersede all prior or contemporaneous understandings, agreements, or representations, whether oral or written.
16.2. Severability: If any provision of these terms and conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
16.3.Waiver: The failure of the Company to enforce any provision of these terms and conditions shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.
16.4. Amendments: The Company reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. Applicants are responsible for regularly reviewing the terms and conditions to stay informed of any changes.
