Arqueros Abulenses Aim for Glory in Upcoming Archery Championships
The Abulense Archers are gearing up for an exciting few weeks, with two major archery competitions on the horizon.
Club representative,Luis Caídas,recently spoke with Radio Marca Ávila about the team’s upcoming challenges. First up is the Castilla y León Indoor Archery Championships, taking place on the 17th and 18th of this month. The Abulense Archers will be competing in nearly every category, including Olympic, Customary, and Compound divisions.
Following the regional championships, the team will set their sights on the National Indoor Archery Championships, scheduled for April in Barcelona.Last year, the Abulense Archers secured a bronze medal in the team event at the national level, and they are hoping to build on that success this year.
“We’re aiming for a podium finish,” Caídas stated. “We’ve been training hard, and we’re confident in our abilities.”
Reflecting on 2023, Caídas highlighted the club’s extraordinary performance, dominating local and regional competitions.
“We practically swept the traditional archery categories,” he remarked.
Beyond competitive events, the Abulense Archers also hosted several community-focused activities throughout the year, including a unique “Turkey Shoot” in December and a “Bull’s-Eye” competition. these events not only provided opportunities for members to hone their skills but also introduced archery to a wider audience.
