The tournament commenced with a convincing victory against Virtus Matera on Friday. saturday brought tougher challenges, with the team facing off against Pontevecchio Bologna and the undefeated Pallacanestro recanati.
Magenta dominated Pontevecchio Bologna in the morning match, securing a agreeable 47-32 win. The afternoon clash against Recanati proved to be a nail-biter, with both teams battling fiercely until the final buzzer. Despite falling short with a score of 35-44,Bagatti saw the match as a valuable learning experience. “We started a bit too tentatively and allowed anxiety to creep in,” he explained.”This was essentially the final for our category, and the pressure got to us. However,it was an excellent test, and we learned valuable lessons about approaching high-stakes games with more composure.”
The final showdown for second place pitted Magenta against Sanseverino Pollenza. After a shaky start that saw Pollenza sink four three-pointers in the first quarter, Magenta’s defense tightened, and their offensive flow improved significantly. This shift in momentum led to a decisive 67-46 victory, capping off a successful tournament for the young squad.
