Orlando’s struggles continued as thay fell to the Nuggets, marking their fifth loss in six games.The absence of Franz adn Moritz Wagner has left the Magic searching for answers, and their latest defeat only deepened their woes.
The game at the Kia Center kept fans on the edge of their seats, with the scoreline remaining tight at halftime (52:54). Though, the Nuggets took control in the third quarter, building a commanding 16-point lead that they maintained until the final buzzer.
Nikola Jokic was the standout performer, notching his 18th triple-double of the season with 20 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists. His dominance on the court was unmatched, as he continues to lead the league in this category. Christian Braun also shone for Denver, contributing a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
For the Magic, rookie Tristan da Silva put up a commendable performance despite facing adversity. The Munich-born player tallied 12 points and 4 rebounds, even after sustaining a facial laceration in the second quarter due to an accidental elbow from Peyton Watson.
The Nuggets have now won seven of their last eight games, solidifying their position in the upper echelons of the Western Conference with a 25-16 record. Their resurgence after a rocky start to the season has been extraordinary, showcasing their championship pedigree.
Simultaneously occurring, the Magic’s struggles persist. With a 23-20 record, they remain in seventh place in the Eastern Conference. However, there’s a glimmer of hope on the horizon as Franz Wagner’s return appears imminent, possibly providing the spark Orlando desperately needs.
