Young Wolves Dominate Holiday Tournaments, Claiming Two Championships
The vlci Žilina youth hockey club kicked off the new year with a series of remarkable performances at tournaments across Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Their dedication and talent shone through, culminating in two well-deserved victories.
The journey began on December 28th,with the 4th preparatory team competing in Nové Mesto nad Váhom.Despite valiant efforts, they narrowly missed out on a podium finish, ultimately securing a respectable fourth place. The team roster included J. Maslík, M. Laurenčík, M. Pajer,Z.Mravcová, S. Sivák,T. Lalinský, M.Dérik, O. Bačík, and M.Smieško.The following day brought a dramatic shift in fortune. The 2013 age group traveled to Rožnov pod Radhoštěm in the Czech Republic, where they proved unstoppable. Their dominant performance earned them the championship title, showcasing the extraordinary skills of A. Síčová, V. Löffler, R. Lučivňák, M. Kopij, P. Nemček, M. Tomaščík, M. Kropáč, M. Pirošík, L. Kadlec, M. maršo, Michaela Lešťanová, Martina Lešťanová, B. Ondrisová, and N. Víglašová.Continuing their winning streak, the 2014 age group participated in a two-day tournament in Dubnica nad Váhom. This marked their first experience playing on a full-sized rink, and after a tentative start, they displayed remarkable adaptability and determination. Overcoming challenges in the elimination rounds, they ultimately triumphed over HC Karviná with a decisive 5:2 victory in the finals, securing the overall championship.
The victorious team consisted of K. Holiš, D. Pazderník, N. Schmidt, M. Laurenčík, M. Maršo, L. dubaj, T. Papánek, A.Peterka, D. Kaestner, P. Melo, M. Seifert, K. Kajánek, A. Kuliha, and M. Winkler.
