The Financial Guardian of Danish Badminton
Steering the Economic course
As the political economic officer for Badminton Denmark, my primary duty is overseeing the organization’s financial health. This involves establishing and maintaining a framework for economic decision-making, ensuring alignment with the priorities set by the main board. My role is to guarantee financial stability and transparency, ultimately maximizing the impact of our resources on the growth of badminton in Denmark.A Lifelong Passion for the Sport
My journey with badminton began at the age of ten, driven by a simple love for the game. While I never reached professional levels, the enjoyment I derived from playing led me to volunteer at Gladsaxe Søborg Badmintonklub, my home club. For over two decades,I’ve served as chairman, dedicating nearly 30 years to the club’s growth and success.
Ascending the Ranks of Badminton Denmark
My involvement with Badminton Denmark began in 2015 when I became chairman of Badminton København. In the then-existing structure, Kreis chairmen automatically held positions on the main board. In 2017, I transitioned to the role of political economic officer, and in 2022, I served as interim director before Kristian Langbak assumed the position.
Beyond the Badminton Court
My commitment to sports extends beyond badminton. I’m actively involved with Idræt København, an organization dedicated to promoting and safeguarding sports opportunities for all Copenhagen residents.
Ensuring access to diverse sporting activities is crucial, and while I naturally champion badminton, I believe everyone should have the chance to engage in the sport of their choice.
A New Chapter
Professionally, I’ve spent many years in the real estate industry, focusing on business development. Recently, I decided to pursue new opportunities and am currently exploring different career paths.
