Monclova Invests in Archery Future with New Training Centre
Monclova Mayor Carlos Villarreal Pérez announced the construction of a state-of-the-art Archery Training Center within the Nora Leticia rocha Sports city. This initiative aims to cultivate young archery talent in the region.
The groundbreaking ceremony, scheduled for this Saturday, will be attended by officials from the Coahuila State Sports Institute and World Archery Mexico. The project, estimated to cost over 10 million pesos, signifies a important investment in the advancement of archery in Monclova.
The new center will provide aspiring archers with a dedicated space for training, equipped with top-notch facilities. In collaboration with the Inedec, qualified instructors will be on hand to nurture and refine the skills of young athletes.
“Currently, training takes place at the stadium,” explained Mayor Villarreal Pérez. “We are relocating it to the Sports City to centralize all sporting activities and foster the growth of archery within a high-quality environment.”
This proclamation coincides with the “Dafne Quintero” Archery Open, a prestigious event attracting over 200 archers from 16 states across Mexico. The tournament highlights Monclova’s growing prominence in the archery community.
The Nora Leticia Rocha Sports City already boasts facilities for a variety of sports, including soccer, softball, baseball, flag football, and athletics. The addition of the Archery Training Center, made possible through a joint effort between the municipal and state governments, further solidifies Monclova’s commitment to providing comprehensive sporting opportunities for its residents.
