Nîmes Prepares to Host Archery Elite for the 27th Occitanie Nîmes Archery Tournament
The city of Nîmes is gearing up to welcome over 1,240 archers from around the globe for the 27th edition of the Occitanie Nîmes Archery tournament, taking place from January 16th to 18th. This prestigious event is part of the Indoor World series, a renowned circuit that also includes stops in Lausanne, luxembourg, Taipei, Chicago, and Las Vegas.
This year’s tournament promises to be particularly exciting, with the absence of the Korean team, who are focusing on training, opening up the field for other nations. The French team, boasting talents like Jean-Charles Valladont, Baptiste Addis, Thomas Chirault, and Lisa Barbelin, will be looking to capitalize on this opportunity.
Adding to the excitement, the arc Club de Nîmes is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
The tournament will showcase a diverse range of archery styles, with 65% of participants specializing in classical archery and 45% in compound archery. With nearly 2,000 people expected to attend, including archers and their supporters, Nîmes will become a global hub for archery enthusiasts.
Spectators can expect a thrilling weekend of competition, with archers from 45 countries across five continents vying for victory. The action will unfold across three venues: the Parnasse, the Parc des Expositions, and the Estanque.
“Nîmes is gaining international recognition within the archery world,” says Olivier Grillat, the ACN’s Director of Sport. “Archery specialists worldwide know exactly where to find our city.”
Tickets are available at the Parnasse reception,offering unlimited access to all three days of competition,including the finals,for €10 for adults and €5 for those under 16.
