Rising Stars Shine at the 23rd FAČR Grassroots Gala
The 23rd annual FAČR Grassroots Gala celebrated the achievements of exceptional talent in Czech non-professional football, futsal, and beach football. The event, held on January 11, 2025, recognized outstanding players and coaches across various age groups and disciplines.
one of the night’s highlights was the recognition of Viktoria Plzeň’s rising star, Jiří Panoš. The 18-year-old forward, who made his debut for the A-team this season, was named the Football – Senior Teenager Player of the Year. Panoš, who has already made history as the youngest Czech scorer in European cup competitions, expressed his gratitude in a pre-recorded video message from the team’s training camp in Marbella.
“I’m incredibly honored to receive this award,” Panoš stated. “It’s been a fantastic year, and I’m grateful for the recognition.”
Kryštof Čížek,a promising talent playing for Hoffenheim’s under-19 team,secured the Football – Younger Teenager Player of the Year award. Markéta Jančářová from Slovácko was recognized as the top female talent.
The coaching accolades went to Karel Rada, who led the Czech women’s national team for eight years before stepping down after the unsuccessful playoff for the European championship in December. Marek Kopecký,a four-time recipient of the Futsal Coach of the Year award,continued his notable streak.
The Grassroots gala serves as a platform to acknowledge the dedication and achievements of individuals who contribute to the growth and advancement of football at all levels. It underscores the importance of nurturing young talent and recognizing the contributions of coaches who shape the future of the sport.

Beach Soccer – Women: 1. Markéta Matějková (Bohemians Prague 1905), 2.Tereza Portychová (Hradec Králové), 3. Tereza Kožárová (Bohemians Prague 1905).
Talent of the Year – Women: 1. Markéta Jančářová, 2.Zuzana Obadalová (both Slovácko), 3. Gabriela Jana Sobotková (Slavia Prague).
