MAZATLAN._ Prisca guadalupe White Alcaraz is gearing up for her debut international event in 2025, with plans to compete in Austria next March.
The Paris Olympic Games silver medalist has been invited to share her journey and insights from Paris 2024 at the 15th annual National Technical Congress of Coaches: Comprehensive Strengthening of the Coach in Sports Growth.
“Training is already underway, and we’ll resume competitions in March. Everything is progressing exceptionally well. My first judo tournament will take place in Austria,” Alcaraz shared upon her arrival in Mazatlán.
When asked about her scholarships and support from the National Commission for Physical Culture and Sports (Conade), the London-born athlete expressed optimism.
“so far, everything has been great. I’m hopeful that the support will continue under Rommel (Pacheco), so that judo can keep growing at the national level in Mexico.”
The judo champion will kick off the congress with a keynote presentation titled “Behind an Olympic Medal”, scheduled for Thursday afternoon at Hotel El Cid.
Arriving at Rafael Buelna International Airport, the medalist radiated excitement about her visit.
“Everything is fantastic—I’m thrilled to be in Mazatlán for this notable congress.”

Under Rommel pacheco,I’ve seen a renewed focus on nurturing talent and providing resources. Judo is still growing in mexico, and with continued support, I believe we can achieve even greater success on the international stage.
Moderator: That’s a great point. Now,let’s talk about your upcoming tournament in Austria. What are your expectations, and how do you plan to approach the competition?
Prisca: My goal is to perform at my best and gain valuable experience. This will be my first international tournament, so I’m treating it as a learning chance. I’ll be up against some of the best judokas in the world, and I’m looking forward to testing my skills. Win or lose, I know this experience will help me grow as an athlete.
