Moderator: Absolutely.S.O.U.F.A. embodies the spirit of “Undugu,” which means brotherhood in Swahili, and they aim to foster unity through the celebration of Ugandan traditions. What are your thoughts on the role of sports in fostering a sense of unity and brotherhood?
Lia: Sports, at their best, can be a powerful tool for bringing people together. It transcends language barriers and cultural differences. On a team, you learn to rely on each other, celebrate victories together, and support each other through setbacks. It builds empathy, respect, and a shared sense of purpose.

Lia: Music is a universal language. It has the power to evoke emotions and create shared experiences that transcend words. When you see a group like S.O.U.F.A. performing these traditional dances and playing these unique instruments, it gives you a glimpse into their culture, their history, their joys and sorrows. It’s a way to build bridges and understanding.

There is so much power in using one’s platform to shed light on critical issues, to start conversations, and to inspire change.

Lia: I believe these exchanges are incredibly valuable. They allow us to step outside our comfort zones, challenge our assumptions, and learn from people with different perspectives. It fosters empathy, breaks down stereotypes, and helps us build a more interconnected and understanding world.
