under the guidance of coach Nuno Dias, Sporting entered the João Rocha Pavilion fully aware of Benfica’s result from their match in Ponte de Sor. The team wasted no time, setting a blistering pace and establishing an early lead. Diogo Santos opened the scoring in the 9th minute, followed by Rúben Freire’s goal, giving the four-time national champions a solid advantage by the 12th minute.

The second half saw Sporting extend their lead with goals from merlin at the 27th minute and Taynan at the 32nd minute. However, Leões de Porto salvo fought back, with Mamadú Ture and Anderson Fortes scoring in the 35th and 37th minutes, respectively, narrowing the gap in the closing stages of the match.
This victory propels Sporting to the top of the league table with 35 points, two ahead of Benfica, who remain on 33. Meanwhile, Leões de Porto Salvo, suffering their second consecutive defeat, hold onto fourth place with 23 points.
