Fred Kerley,teh 2022 100-meter world champion and Olympic bronze medalist,found himself in a confrontation with Miami police on Friday,resulting in his arrest. According to a police statement, Kerley attempted to forcefully enter an active crime scene in South Beach, prompting a physical altercation with multiple officers.Kerley, who was reportedly seeking data about his vehicle parked near the scene, allegedly displayed aggressive behavior and disregarded police orders to retreat. The situation escalated, leading to four officers attempting to subdue Kerley. The police report indicates that Kerley was struck on the head, chest, and back before being tasered. Even after being incapacitated by the taser, Kerley allegedly continued to resist arrest.
The 29-year-old athlete faces charges of resisting arrest without violence, battery on a law enforcement officer, and disorderly conduct. He was transported to Mount Sinai Medical center for evaluation.
