The annual JDD ranking of France’s most beloved personalities has arrived, revealing a engaging mix of enduring icons and fresh faces. While Jean-Jacques goldman maintains his reign at the top, a wave of new talent, notably Olympic champions, is making its mark.
This year’s list highlights the nation’s admiration for athletic prowess. Judo legend Teddy Riner,fresh off his gold medal victory at the Paris Olympics,secures the second spot,while swimming sensation Léon Marchand,a five-time medalist from Toulouse,makes a stunning debut at number five.Adding to the sporting spirit, rugby star Antoine Dupont, who also contributed to France’s golden summer, claims the eighth position.

Television personality Karine Le Marchand takes 15th place, while comedian Florence Foresti climbs to 22nd, a meaningful jump from her 34th position last year.

Teddy: We have a strong judo tradition in France. I’m proud to be part of that legacy,and I believe it’s critically important to invest in grassroots development,ensuring young people have access to training and opportunities. The future is luminous for French Judo.
Moderator: Being a high-level athlete necessitates immense dedication and sacrifice. With such a demanding schedule, how do you balance your training, personal life, and public responsibilities?
Teddy: Keeping a balanced life is crucial. It takes discipline and planning, and of course, the unwavering support of my family and my team. It’s a constant juggling act, but one I wouldn’t trade for anything.
