The Compagnie des Archers d’Étampes: From Competition Success to Coaching Excellence
The Compagnie des Archers d’Étampes recently demonstrated their prowess on the archery field, achieving impressive results at competitions held in Montlhéry, Chartres, and Fleury-les-Aubrais. Young archers Mohamed Rihane and corentin Laroche-Moreau secured gold and bronze medals respectively in the U11 category, marking a remarkable debut for these promising athletes. Charlène Casanova and Christophe Campeaux also claimed victory in the U18 and Senior 2 categories,respectively,while Estelle Retif,Philippe Denece,and Jules Ciezki secured third place in their respective categories.
This success highlights the dedication and talent within the Compagnie, with several archers setting their sights on the national championships in March. Captain Philippe Massy expressed his pride in the team’s achievements, noting the strong portrayal and the promising performance of the younger archers.
Building on this momentum, the Compagnie is set to host a important event on December 1st: a coaching training session organized by the Île-de-france Regional Archery Committee. This session will welcome 18 candidates pursuing their coaching diploma and 5 candidates aiming for the DEJEPS (State Diploma in Youth, Popular Education, and Sport) to become professional coaches.This marks another milestone for the Compagnie, following last year’s hosting of the regional team.The training will encompass both theoretical and practical components, providing valuable insights and guidance to aspiring coaches. Notably, ten new archers, both children and adults who recently joined the Compagnie, will benefit from the expertise shared during this session. This initiative reflects the Compagnie’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a thriving archery community.

Welcome,Philippe. Congratulations on the Compagnie’s success at the recent competitions in Montlhéry, Chartres, and Fleury-les-Aubrais.Winning medals is always great, but what stood out to you most about these results?
Thank you. It was truly a special series of competitions for us! While every medal is a testament to our archers’ hard work and dedication, seeing the younger generation shine was truly remarkable.
Mohamed Rihane’s gold medal in the U11 category, alongside Corentin Laroche-Moreau‘s bronze, speaks volumes about the future of the Compagnie. They are proof that our training and mentorship programs are effectively nurturing young talent.

Absolutely. We see this as a crucial step in expanding the archery community and ensuring the long-term success of the sport.

We believe our focus on inclusivity and support is what truly distinguishes us. we aim to create an surroundings where archers of all ages and skill levels feel welcome and encouraged to grow.
Looking ahead, we are aiming for continued success at regional and national competitions. More importantly, we aspire to be a driving force in the development of archery in Étampes and beyond, fostering a love for the sport and creating opportunities for both individuals and the community as a whole.
