Brianzoli Archers Dominate Indoor Competitions
Archery enthusiasts in Brianza are celebrating another accomplished season, with local athletes consistently achieving top rankings in recent indoor competitions.
At the interregional tournament held in Voghera’s scuola don Orione facility,members of the Compagnia Arcieri di monza e della Brianza showcased their prowess in the Olympic bow category. Master archers Massimo Valenti, Maurizio Cecchetto, and Massimo Marenghi secured gold, silver, and bronze medals respectively, further solidifying their dominance. The team’s success continued with a gold medal victory in the team event.
Simultaneously occurring, in the barebow category, senior archers Massimo Egidio Volpi and Cristian Trolese, representing the compagnia Arcieri del Sole di Solaro, claimed silver and bronze medals, respectively.
The archers’ impressive performance continued at the Gallarate competition, hosted at the Compagnia arcieri Monica’s facility. This event saw an even greater haul of medals for the Brianzoli athletes.
The compagnia Arcieri di Monza e della Brianza added to their medal count with Daniela Prestianni securing bronze in the senior Olympic category. The team also achieved gold in the senior women’s Olympic team event and silver in the men’s.
The Polisportiva besanese archers also made their mark, with Monica Redaelli winning silver, and Letizia Muzzupappa and Marino Crippa both earning bronze medals in the master category. The Besanese teams also excelled, with the women’s team clinching gold and the men’s team securing silver.
Daniela Sangiorgio, representing the Arcieri del Borgia Usmate Velate, added to the region’s success by winning bronze in the barebow category. The senior men’s Olympic team also secured a bronze medal.
the Compagnia Arcieri del sole di Solaro continued their dominance in the barebow discipline. Senior archers Emiliano Giuranno and Adriano Fabbian secured silver and bronze medals respectively, while the team, completed by Cristian Trolese, clinched the gold medal.

To discuss this remarkable phenomenon, we sat down with Marco Rossi, a highly respected Olympic archery coach who has mentored numerous national champions. Coach Rossi, thanks for joining us.
MR: It’s a pleasure to be here. the energy around Brianza archery is palpable.
Moderator: Absolutely! Let’s start with the recent interregional tournament in Voghera. The Compagnia Arcieri di Monza e della Brianza truly dominated the olympic bow category, with a sweep of the podium. What are your thoughts on their performance?
MR: They were exceptional. Massimo Valenti, Maurizio cecchetto, and Massimo Marenghi are seasoned archers with an unwavering focus. Their teamwork was seamless, which translated to gold in the team event as well. It’s a testament to their dedication and the quality of coaching they receive.
Moderator: And we can’t overlook the impressive showing by Massimo Egidio Volpi and Cristian Trolese in the barebow category. Representing the Compagnia Arcieri del Sole di solaro, they secured silver and bronze, respectively.Do you see this program consistently producing top-tier barebow archers?
MR: Definitely. The Compagnia Arcieri del Sole di Solaro has a strong tradition in barebow archery.These athletes are incredibly skilled and are proving to be formidable competitors.
Moderator: moving on to Gallarate, the Ciaonia Arcieri Monica’s facility saw another wave of brianza triumph. Daniela Prestianni’s bronze in the senior Olympic category and the team medals for both men and women from Monza and Besanese were especially noteworthy. What does this tell us about the depth of talent in the region?
MR: It’s clear that Brianza has a deep pool of archery talent across all categories and age groups. The consistent success of both individual archers and teams speaks volumes about the infrastructure, coaching, and commitment to the sport in the region.
Moderator: Coach Rossi, some might say this success is a mere flash in the pan. How sustainable is this level of dominance in the long run?
MR: I believe it’s highly sustainable. The young archers coming up through the ranks are incredibly talented, and they’re learning from the best. With continued support and nurturing of this talent, Brianza could indeed become a dominant force in Italian archery for years to come.

What message would you give to aspiring young archers in Brianza who are inspired by these remarkable achievements?
MR: My advice is simple: Train hard, believe in yourself, find a great coach who can guide you, and most importantly, never lose your passion for the sport.If you do that, anything is absolutely possible.
