Vini Jr. Faces Two-Match LaLiga Ban
Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior will miss the club’s next two LaLiga fixtures following a suspension imposed by the RFEF Competitions Committee. The decision, announced on Tuesday, stems from Vinicius Jr.’s red card during Real Madrid’s recent victory over Valencia.
Despite initial speculation suggesting a potential ban exceeding ten games, the Brazilian star ultimately received the minimum penalty. This means he will be absent for Real Madrid’s upcoming encounters against Las Palmas at the Santiago Bernabéu and valladolid at the José Zorrilla stadium.
Fortunately for Real Madrid and Vinicius Jr., the suspension dose not extend to the Spanish Super Cup.Consequently, the talented winger remains eligible for Thursday’s semifinal clash against Mallorca. Should Real Madrid advance, Vinicius Jr. could also feature in the final against either Barcelona or Athletic Bilbao.
“Two Games? That’s Lenient!” – Former Barca star Rivaldo Weighs in on Vinicius Jr. Suspension
Brazilian football legend Rivaldo has shared his thoughts on the recent two-match suspension handed to Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr. by the RFEF competitions Committee. Following a red card incident during Real Madrid’s win over Valencia, speculation initially ran rampant, with some suggesting a suspension exceeding ten games. Though, the RFEF ultimately imposed the minimum punishment.
“Two games? Honestly, I think that’s lenient,” rivaldo told us exclusively. “Yes, Vinicius Jr. is a young player, full of passion. But you can’t go around putting yoru hands on opposing players. It sets a bad example and could have resulted in serious injury.”
Rivaldo, known for his own fiery temperament during his illustrious career with Barcelona and Brazil, admitted that he wasn’t immune to the occasional outburst.
“Look, I’ve been there,” he confessed. “The heat of the moment gets to you. But you have to control your emotions. Vinicius Jr. needs to learn that lesson quickly before it costs him dearly.”
While many Real Madrid fans are relieved that the suspension won’t affect Vinicius Jr.’s participation in the Spanish Super Cup,Rivaldo believes the punishment should have been harsher, especially considering the player’s history.
“This isn’t his first disciplinary issue,” Rivaldo pointed out.”He needs to understand the consequences of his actions. Two games send a weak message. The league needs to be tougher on these instances to protect players and the integrity of the game.”
