Dan Quinn is the main candidate to be coach of the Dolphins

“He’s” BAAAAAAAAACK, “. Is back as it says Cam Newton and better than ever.

The former head coach of the Falcons and current defensive coordinator of the Cowboys, Dan Quinn, is a hot candidate for several vacant head coach positions, according to NFL expert journalist Tom Pelissero.

The Dolphins were the last team to submit an interview request to DQ for his head coach position that would replace Brian Flores.

Quinn has more important things to worry about right now, though, as the Cowboys prepare to take on the San Francisco 49ers in a wild card duel this Sunday.

He made it clear to the Dallas reporter, on Machota of The Athletic, and to other members of the media that his top priority is the 49ers right now.

Dolphins surprisingly dismiss Flores

It was a shock to many when the Dolphins announced they would be leaving head coach Brian Flores on Monday, January 1.

He came to the Dolphins in 2019, during a time of need. Flores won just five games in his freshman year, but then produced back-to-back winning seasons after that. He finished the 2021 season with a 9-8 record, but missed the playoffs for the third year in a row. In his three years as head coach, Flores produced an overall record of 24-25. He’s likely to find his way back to another NFL coaching job in 2022.

Quinn trained for six seasons in Atlanta

Quinn, 51, was in his sixth season and ended his time with an overall record of 43-42 when he was fired as the Falcons’ head coach.

Before the start of the 2020 season, Quinn had posted consecutive season records of 7-9. The downfall began just after leading his team to the 2016 Super Bowl when Kyle Shanahan he was the offensive coordinator.

Quinn’s playoff record at Atlanta was 3-2, including a brutal 34-28 overtime loss to the New England Patriots during the Super Bowl after blowing a 28-3 lead in the third quarter.

Although he doesn’t admit it outright, of course, Quinn would love to get another chance as head coach. After a dominant performance by Dallas’ defense in the team’s 56-14 win over Washington in Week 17, Quinn addressed the media on being one of the leading head coach candidates heading into 2022.

“I wasn’t coming here looking for my next job,” Quinn said. “I wanted to come here, have fun, and hopefully kick some ass. If they come [oportunidades de entrenador en jefe], I’ll be ready for them. But I’m having a great time being here with this team and doing it. “

Quinn’s trade at Dallas has been extraordinary, as he took the worst Cowboys defense in franchise history and turned it into one of the league’s best defenders ranking No. 7 in points allowed, No. 19 in yards allowed and first in interceptions with 33.

Not to mention, he’s also produced two 2022 Pro Bowlers in cornerback Trevon Diggs and rookie linebacker Micah Parsons.

The other known teams interested in Quinn are the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Chicago Bears.

Stay tuned to see if he accepts the interviews or not after his much-deserved playoff run with Dallas.
