Bessières. Basketball: the new year is off to a good start

The year has started perfectly for the youth teams engaged in the Region who, on their momentum of 2021, remain at the top of the table in their respective championships.

The U18 girls won 70-61 at Salies-du-Salat after a high-level match. They remain in the top three with Astro and the winner of the Blagnac-Montauban match (the match has been postponed) and must confirm Saturday against Aureilhan before concluding the first leg with a meeting at the top in Blagnac.

Among the boys, the U15 winners of Auch (69-52) point to third place with Astro which they will visit on Saturday. A third place also occupied by the U13 fine winners in Rodez (49-35) before facing the last two of the group to complete the first leg.

Among the seniors, the girls lost again narrowly (54-51) against the leader, Elan Aveyron Basket. “A meeting like our season” for David Rabier, “frustrating but reassuring in spite of everything because if we keep this state of mind we can look forward to the future with optimism and hope to keep ourselves in the Regional”. A maintenance which will pass, at first, by two victories at home against Cunac-Lescure on January 23, and Rignac on February 6.

In departmental, the team 2 confirms its recovery and obtains a precious success against Cornebarrieu (54-48) which allows it to aim for a qualification for the hen of accession.

In Regional 3, the senior boys won in Launaguet (69-54) after a perfectly controlled meeting. A victory which allows them to finish the first phase ahead of Olemps and Albi. In pool of accession, they will find these two teams as well as the qualifiers of pool A, Saint-Jory, Lavaur 2 (two old acquaintances) and Labège-Auzeville.
