Japanese star reveals why he’s never angry
In 2021, the Japanese star excelled in amazing ways, becoming the best two-way baseball player in major league baseball history. Notably, it took him years of wrestling and criticism to produce his best baseball season.
In one interview in 2016, Shohei revealed how he scored in high school. Young Shohei was adamant about his goals, which were “not to be emotionally labile, a clear head, a passionate heart”.

Shohei also said, “I don’t really get angry or yell at someone.” Out of curiosity, the interviewer asked Ohtani if he laughed until his stomach ached, to which he replied: “Yes, I am laughing, I don’t know if my stomach hurts, corn”.

After its incredible release in 2021, Ohtani gained insane fame and attention. In an interview with GQ, Shohei was thrilled to be called the “face of baseball”.
“I’m actually happy to hear that. That’s why I came here, to be the best player I can be. And hearing “the face of baseball” is very welcoming to me, and it gives me more motivation too – because I only had that, it was my first very good year. And it’s only been a year. So it gives me more motivation to continue and have more beautiful years, ”said Ohtani.
