Thanks in part to a greatly improved performance by national player Dennis Schröder, the Boston Celtics have won their third win in a row. The Braunschweiger came in 119: 100 against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday evening (local time) on 23 points. He had last achieved more a month ago, in the two previous games he had only reached single digits. Jaylen Brown (34 counts) and Jayson Tatum (33) scored even better – as almost always.
With the win, the Celtics now have a balanced record of 21 wins and 21 defeats each, but are still under strong pressure in the fight for the play-off places in the Eastern Conference. In the top game of the day, the Brooklyn Nets won 138: 112 against the Chicago Bulls and reduced the gap at the top of the table.
Lakers defensive worries
Speaking of a balanced balance sheet. The Lakers in the west are currently showing this. LebBron James and his team now have 21 wins and 21 defeats. Although the “King” delivered strong as usual and was the top scorer of the game with 34 points, LA’s problems lay elsewhere. “In the second game in a row, our defense let us down. We have to find out what’s going on – and do it better,” said coach Frank Vogel. At 116: 125 last night in Sacramento, the Lakers just allowed too many points, as in the previous game against Memphis (119: 127).
Los Angeles couldn’t keep up, especially in the third quarter (23:40). “This season is always up and down, which is why we have a balanced record,” explains James. “In the third quarter of today their pace was too much for us, we couldn’t get that under control.” The Lakers are currently in seventh place in the west and run the risk of having to go to the play-in tournament.
New career record for Wagner
Maxi Kleber lost with the Dallas Mavericks 85: 108 against the New York Knicks, the Orlando Magic also did not help the career record of ten assists by Franz Wagner and his 14 points at 106: 112 against the Washington Wizards. Daniel Theis, on the other hand, scored a 128: 124 with the Houston Rockets against the San Antonio Spurs.
