NBA, trade season begins: first exchange between Knicks and Hawks

New York wins a young promise, all the details of the agreement with Atlanta.

The end of January, as we know, is the season for the NBA in which the exchanges multiply and the rosters of the beginning of the season are revolutionized. Just today, after a period of relative quiet, we witnessed the fall of the first tile of what promises to be a very intricate domino.

The Atlanta Hawks, the franchise with performances definitely below initial expectations, has in fact found today an agreement to sell to New York Knicks – another big disappointment of this first half of the NBA – Cameron Reddish, promising winger with call number ten to the 2019 Draft.

Together with Reddish – and a choice in the 2025 Draft – also the veteran Solomon Hill, an experienced player able to provide great leadership to the coach-led roster, packs his bags for the Big Apple Tom Thibodeau. In Atlanta, however, Kevin Knox II is the first choice of the Charlotte Hornets (protected for the first eighteen positions) to the next Draft.

Reddish, a defensive specialist able to maintain an abundant double-digit average, therefore joins a team that has the main shortcomings in that half of the field. We’ll see if its addition will be enough to raise a subdued team for now.
