Former professional baseball player dies at just 28

Sad news for baseball fans, Jean Ramirez, a figure well known to Tampa Bay Rays fans, passed away this week, as the team told us on Thursday. For now, no details on the circumstances of his death have been released, but the former player was only 28 years old. Terrible news for the entire organization, as team manager Kevin Cash recalled. “He brought so much passion and energy each day to the clubhouse and the pitching warm-up area and his love for the Rays and baseball was evident in every interaction with him.”, he said, before adding: “Jean will be sadly missed”.

Born in Puerto Rico, Jean Ramirez attended high school in Texas before moving to the University of Arkansas. After completing his studies at the Faculty of Illinois, he was drafted by the Rays in the 28th round in 2016. In front of the competition, the player did not have the chance to play with the professional team, but the franchise still called on him to integrate his staff. He spent the last three years of his life as an assistant coach for the Rays pitchers.
