Andrés Colorado, 23, is one of the revelations of the Betplay League and, in all fairness, the award has been the call for the Colombian National Team, with which he will play a friendly against Honduras this Sunday. The champion talks to Deportivo Cali about that experience, about his ambitions to get to play the Qualifiers and his desire to even goalie if necessary.
For the Qualifiers
I am happy for the call because things were done well last semester where group and personal goals were achieved, such as this call. I think that this game that we have is very important to show the teacher that we are all willing and able to be in the Qualifiers, we all have the dream of being able to take the National Team to the World Cup in Qatar.
The mess of the goal
Each of us works to improve in that aspect that has been a failure. We know that it is not only about the forwards, but also about putting together the game well from behind so that they have clear options with the goalkeeper. The teacher has insisted a lot on what the start of the game is, on creating goal options and taking the ball to the forwards in a good way so that they can have that completion that is required.
Running buddies
We have worked with many colleagues who are on the call and who are very important players with whom I have felt very comfortable. We all fight for the same goal, which is to earn a place in this National Team. With Daniel Giraldo and Stiven I have felt very good.
Polyfunctional?
When I debuted I did it as a center-back, I played very little in that position, but I know it, the truth is that in the position that requires me, not only I but all my teammates are willing to do it and give their all. If you need me as a side, as a goalkeeper or anywhere I will do it with all the disposition.
The title with Cali
I think everything that was achieved with the team was vital, group objectives bring personal objectives and they are being reflected. What added the title and the great games we played was important to receive this call.
The strength of the League
The arrival of great players will empower young people, we must get the most out of them, we must know them to raise our level, something that allows us to be called up again in the National Team. This is very important for Colombian soccer that top players and the Selection process are returning.
Rehearsals with Junior
Before starting the recovery, the teacher told us how happy he had been with the work we did yesterday against Junior and Real Cartagena. Each of my colleagues gave their all and it was reflected in the results.
