Angels signed Dominican outfielder Magneuris Sierra

The Los Angeles Angels reached a minor league agreement with Dominican outfielder Magneuris Sierra, according to a report by journalist Chris Hilburn-Trenkle of Baseball America.

Sierra debuted in the majors with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2017, and has just played recent seasons with the Miami Marlins, where he was never able to establish himself as an everyday player.

The 25-year-old Dominican will start the campaign in Double A or Triple A, although it is not ruled out that he may receive the call to take the role of fourth outfielder in a Californian roster that will include the return of star Mike Trout.

The team also secured the services of right-hander Kyle Barraclough, who is just pitching for the San Francisco Giants in the 2021 MLB campaign.
